Welcome to Our Church
Raising radical Christians who love GOD
History
Believing in God’s Word and Spirit
Charisma Word Ministry was started in 2005 by Rev. and Mrs. Bonsu in Columbus Ohio. It started as a prayer meeting and we decided to meet on Sundays. The church was registered in October, 2005 and we had our first service with five people at Haimerl Center. The following Sunday, we went to church and nobody showed up so it was only Rev. Prince Bonsu at the service but did praises and worship and he preached the word. With five members in the church, we tried many crusades and programs but we did not see any changes in numbers. Somebody who was supposed to be my elder told me that I was not the pastor he was looking for so he left me and the church. In about six months we had grown to ten members. Coming from a church with over 2000 members in Ghana I thought my church would grow to about 100 members in no time, so with 10 members in six month I thought God had not called me to start any church. We decided to stop meeting and removed all my musical instruments into my basement to go back to my prayer meetings. We met for prayer every Tuesday and Thursday with about six people including my wife and me. On Sundays, I would go and visit other churches to see if God will permit me to join one them as a member. I never got the conviction to join any of them. We later joined collaborated with another church to see if we can do ministry together but it never worked. All the members that we took to that congregation left us and we became stranded again. We were still having prayer meetings at the basement for almost two years and God spoke to me to come out and do the church again. I did not want to listen since the first attempt looked to me as a failure. I resisted very strongly because we had then had three children and responsibilities were very high. We did not want to take another burden upon ourselves.
As I was contemplating on it every day, one of my friends called me and said God has spoken to him about me and that I have to start the church again. This was a confirmation of what I was already hearing but it was too hard for me to make a move. In August 2007, God gave us a building and a business (Adehyeman Palace) in the same building to pay for the rent since we had only four members and the rent was $2500.00. In 2009 we had another place called Kings Hall which also helped us to pay some of the bills of the church. Still our membership was under twenty. After about a year we lost both businesses which almost caused the church to collapse. We had to move to a hotel, which resulted in losing about 10 members out of the 20 we had. We found another building and moved in 2011 to see if we could gather people again. The church was back and forth. Trusted members will leave the church with no reason and this bothered me so much that I wanted to close the church and leave. People will come and go but our members increased to about 26. In June 2013, this building where we now occupy, became available which was way bigger than our capacity in terms of numbers and finances, but we stood on faith and occupied it. There have been challenges here and there. However, our membership has increased to 100 with about 50 people in regular Sunday attendance. Our vision for the church is materializing. In 2012, we were able open our childcare center called All Star Academy Learning Center. We have also started our school of Ministry and about to launch our University called King’s College where we are going to train ministers for kingdom work.

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form t is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.
